"Debbie Isitt has started principal photography on comedy Nativity, starring Martin Freeman, Ashley Jensen, Jason Watkins and Marc Wootton.

Backers are BBC Films, Screen West Midlands and Limelight. Protagonist Pictures is handling international sales.

Isitt, who last directed Confetti, is again directing an improvised comedy.

Nick Jones is producing.

The film will shoot throughout the West Midlands during a six-week shoot.

Freeman and Watkins play teachers at rival schools who hope to put on the best Christmas nativity play. Freeman's character then boasts that his ex-girlfriend, a Hollywood producer (Jensen) will be involved in his schools' production.

Isitt said: " I'm so excited to be making another film with BBC Films and Screen West Midlands. Their enthusiasm and support for my work is fantastic."

Joe Oppenheimer and David M Thompson for BBC Films will serve as executive producers.

Oppenheimer said: "Debbie has a unique talent and vision, and as ever has assembled a wonderful cast and creative team to bring her great ideas to life. We're delighted to be working with her again."

...AND thanks as ever to all those who've been asking recently via the Fooling Nobody blog/Myspace/Facebook for updates on future Marc news, since the last posting from Showtime's official announcements re: Marc in L.A. and searching for Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel release news etc - updates shortly...

Also, I've had a lot of requests clips, particularly regarding Marc's appearances on The Pilot Show - from Channel 4/E4 (2003) - (not yet available on DVD) see The Pilot Show creator Paul Garner's official site for clips - see HERE

Huge thanks to Dave aka "Dirty Dave"!!! - who very kindly sent me the following regarding his experienecs of Marc and taking part in the show...

Dave says:
"I was the one that was stitched up good and proper as "Dirty Dave" the D.I.Y. man!! I remember going to the studio that day with the mentality that I will do my utmost to be a "presenter of a sexy young show on Channel 4".

Little did I know that I was walking into a studio of absolute Comical Geniuses headed by the now internationally recognised talent that is Marc Wootton!! LOL!!

He and his colleague Sharon I believe, had me doing all kinds of madness, some of it probably too raw for even the bold Channel Four!!

I spent quite a bit of the day and many sketches with the great man doing what only he could get someone to do. When I found out the reality I had to laugh and still do to this day with my Wife.

Although he was and is who he is - he had no airs or graces and let me tell you, if you think he's good at what he does on screen, YOU HAVE NO IDEA - that man did not show any inkling of the hidden agenda. I looked in his eyes and he looked totally like he was telling the truth and believe it or not I'm not easily fooled!!

It made me feel a little better when I saw such celebrities as Des Lynam and my boyhood Idol Frank Bruno also getting stitched up.

A genius and legend in the making, I wish Marc all the success he deserves!! Big up!!"

Whatever happened to ****** Fraser?!!!!
