WAY TO GO CONFIRMED. NATIVITY 2 UPDATE

The BBC have just confirmed that WAY TO GO will now be broadcast on Thursday January 17th 2013 at 10.30pm on BBC3.  Marc stars as Cozzo.

"New six-part black comedy Way To Go is about three ordinary friends who find themselves forced by an extraordinary set of circumstances into setting up an assisted-suicide business.

Created by US comedy writer Bob Kushell, (The Simpsons, 3rd Rock From The Sun, Anger Management), Way To Go follows half-brothers Scott (Blake Harrison, The Inbetweeners), Joey (Ben Heathcote) and their friend Cozzo (Marc Wootton, La La Land, High Spirits With Shirley Ghostman) as they navigate the waters of running an illegal business. Along the way, the 20-something mates find love in the strangest ways, fall out with each other and are touched by the people they come across. But it's their own inadequacies and personal circumstances which lead to comedy in the darkest of situations.

In episode one, The Beginning Of The End, Scott, who is already faced with a predatory female employer, a split from his girlfriend, and a desperate life-or-death need for cash to pay off Joey's gambling debts, reluctantly agrees to assist the terminally ill old man across the hall with his suicide. Scott employs his friend, Cozzo to build what Scott thinks is their only solution: an assisted-suicide machine. It's a deeply illicit and illegal situation about which they will have to keep very, very quiet. But Cozzo, whose prying wife Debbie (Sinéad Matthews) is a police officer, decides if he's going to take the risk, they should turn assisted suicide into a business.

The series is created and written by Bob Kushell with additional episodes written by Russell Arch, Brian Dooley (Smoking Room) and Jeff Greenstein (Desperate Housewives, Will And Grace). The directors are Catherine Morshead (The Great Outdoors, Doctor Who, Ashes To Ashes) and Jeff Greenstein (Desperate Housewives, Will And Grace). The producer is Justin Davies (Psychoville, Some Girls) and the executive producer is Jon Plowman (Ab Fab, Psychoville, Twenty Twelve)."

MARC IN NEW BBC2 COMEDY

BBC Two announced today that filming has started on Inside No. 9 (working title), an anthology of comedies stuffed with dark humour and unexpected twists created, written by and starring Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith (A League Of Gentlemen, Psychoville).

Inside No. 9 will be six separate 30-minute stories and is a BBC in-house production. The first three episodes are currently being filmed in studio and on location in London, with a second block of filming next summer. The series will TX on BBC Two towards the end of 2013.

Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith follow up the multi-award-winning Psychoville with an anthology of tales of the genuinely unexpected, under the working title Inside No. 9. What goes on behind closed doors on the street where you live? Inside No. 9 invites you into six very different No. 9s, where the ordinary and mundane rub shoulders with the extraordinary and macabre. From a grand country house where a game of ‘sardines’ leads to some chilling revelations in a wardrobe; to a very oddly haunted house; to the flat of an apparently happy primary school teacher who becomes the victim of a good deed; these unpredictable tales feature high comedy and claustrophobic horror by turns.

Starring alongside Steve and Reece in various stories will be Gemma Arterton (Quantum Of Solace, Tamara Drewe), Conleth Hill (Game Of Thrones), Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd), Anna Chancellor (The Hour, Pramface), Anne Reid (Last Tango In Halifax), Tamsin Grieg (Friday Night Dinner, Episodes), Julian Rhind-Tutt (Green Wing, A Touch Of Cloth), Ben Willbond (The Thick Of It, Horrible Histories),
Marc Wootton (Way To Go, High Spirits With Shirley Ghostman), Timothy West (Exile, Endgame), Sophie Thompson (Love Life, EastEnders), David Bedella (Jerry Springer – The Opera), Adam Deacon (Kidulthood, Adulthood), Edinburgh Comedy Award-winner Tim Key and many more.
